Don't Ask Me To Be Cute!

Sparks!
It seems that whenever my Mistress pets me, sparks come out of my fur!
It doesn't feel all that great either. It kinda feels weird like I should run, and I start to, but then the feeling goes away!
How weird! I don't think I like it.
I mean, I want Mistress to pet me, I like it, no, I love it! I love all the attention, cuz most of the day I'm sleeping and she's doing something else in the living room and I'm all curled up in my bed, so when I see her, I wanna be petted!
But not if I get these shocks and sparks come outta my fur! Yucko!
I asked Mistress why this happens, and she said cuz it's still winter and the air is so dry.
Well, yes, we got snow on Thursday, lots of snow, but it's staying lighter longer so. .. why does winter have to last so long??!!
She says she has to get something called a humidifier so it won't be so dry.
Now, wait a minute! I don't want anything with FIRE near me!
She just laughed and said it's purrty complicated. Sounds easy, but scary to me!
I guess I'd rather have a few sparks now and then, then something with fire!
Today would've been Squeakers' sixth birthday. Mistress really kinda misses her. I need to knead her some more. . .I like to do it, she likes when I do it, and she makes this noise like "Mmmmmmmmmmmm!" It's a happy mmmmmmm sound too! I guess I better get my paws moving. .. oh the life of a furry masseuse!

Cleaning Day
It all started last night, Mistress had been watching another I Love Lucy marathon! I swear, it's the second one in a month, and this one lasted at least sixteen hours. .. or one nap for me! She also switched back and forth to the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. While she was doing all that sitting, instead of eating I had her do me a favor and get her fingers moving, she let me go to a Super Bowl/birthday party at the Late Late Show on Catster. Well, back and forth we went, Lucy, Puppy Bowl (along with the cute Kitty Half-time sponsored by Bissell) and the party, and at the end of the party, Mistress had Squeakers, my angel sister, play the violin for the birthday cat and his girlkit. To understand all this, you'd have to be in the Catster crowd, or furmiliar with it, otherwise it sounds funny.
Anyway, while all that was going on, she remembered a card that her Gram made for her one year for her birthday, a picture of her in a sexy costume on a stage, with Squeakers next to her playing the violin! Gram likes to cut pics out of magazines and paste the heads pics of friends and family on them and she makes great cards. So anyway, Mistress was ripping the place apart looking for that card, she just did some cleaning last month and put some things in a different area, and of course, she couldn't remember where she put it!
Humans!
It wasn't just that card, it was alot of other cards too. After ripping the bedroom and some of the living room apart, her aunt from Dallas called
She just celebrated a birthday on Saturday too! Happy Birthday Aunt Irene. .. even though I've never met you.
Anyway, while she was talking to her, all of a sudden the light popped up in her head, I wonder if that really happens? And she found the card! It was in a basket on the kitchen table. .. duh! The card was the first one she saw, with Squeakers playing the violin.
After she got off the phone, and put the apartment back together, almost, she decided to record the Puppy Bowl, they had been repeating it all day, and after that, she sat down and looked at Squeakers pic and started to leak, major flood.
Then she sat and held Squeakers' urn for awhile, she even showed it to me. We snuggled for a long time, and I put the warm fuzzies back in her. .. what does she need with that Squeakers anyway?
So today, she started picking up some more mess, and scrubbing. I stayed out of her way until she got into the hall closet where the food can go, but she hadn't put it there lately, it had all been on the counter. So then she got crazy cleaning up that closet, and put the food back in there. .. the counter looks nice and empty now! she also had six boxes of Butterfinger cocoa *long story* and she got that all straightened out, but then she got up on a stool and stuff came shooting out from the top shelf! Wrapping paper, toilet paper, a lampshade, my tomb *carrier* Pow pow pow pow!
Wow!
I just had to watch that, although when the tomb came out I kinda backed away. I can't believe she kinda reorganized everything, threw a lot of stuff out, then she put the tomb away *phew!* and found Squeakers' old tomb and put it on top of mine. She has a spare vacuum and she wants to get rid of it, downstairs there is a free table, so she's going to take it down there, along with some other stuff, including the lampshade.
I'm glad she wasn't hurt,I had to make sure she was okay, she didn't fall or anything, but that stuff just came shooting down so fast! I gave her a few cheekrubs to make sure she was okay.
Then she took away my scratchy thing! For awhile she had a piece of old cardboard on the floor, I guess she has to break up old cardboard boxes and bring them down to be recycled, so while she was waiting for that, that cardboard was my toy!
She also took my Fancy Feast box away!
I'm not sure if I like this cleaning stuff, oh it looks nice when it's done, but you have to say goodbye to a lot of stuff!

December 11, 2008

Well, I'm here, finally.
Thanks to Max, you know, the Psychokitty? Silly question Everyone knows the Psychokitty! I got my Mistress. . .I call my caregiver "Mistress" because she isn't my real Mommy, she's my second owner, and we're too close to call each other "person" and "kitty" so I call her Mistress and I listen to her problems. She's got a lot lately. . .
Ooh, I'm getting ahead of myself, I'm sorry. Anyway, I told her, after reading all of Max's books and posts and seeing friends like Toulouse and Skeezix on here to, well, we belong to a great website called http://www.catster.com/, in fact, my dearly (?) departed sister Squeakers http://www.catster.com/cats/58594 has just been made Cat of the Week!, and why, oh why haven't I? so anyway, sorry for rambling, but this would be a great place to make some great new friends and get together with some old ones! So Mistress finally got ON her duff and made me a blog!
She's still kind of upset about Squeakers, she was Mistress' first cat, well, that she had living on her own anyway, and she left when she was way too young. Squeakers was only 5 going on 6! But she had old cat problems for a young cat. She was spoiled and very adaptable. Mistress gave her toys that she only played with for about 2 minutes, if that, she bought a stroller and Squeakers would love going out and the little Sticky People, to use Max's creative terminology, by the way, do I need to ask purrmission before I do that? anyway, they loved her to pieces. Little brat got all the attention, but I came later, and Mistress really loves me, and she is kinda spiritual in some ways, and she thinks that maybe I came for a reason, even though Squeakers and I couldn't stand each other for the longest time.
Now I am the only cat. What fun is that? Though there are no lines going to the litterbox and food dish, no "special kidney food" for me to snitch while Mistress isn't looking, no furry face to slap "just because" and no fighting over who gets Mistress' lap. What fun is that?
I was the one who warned Mistress that something was "not right" in the air, and lo and behold, Squeakers was breathing her last few breaths. Even after that, when Mistress came home from the Emergency Vet alone, I still looked everywhere for my fighting buddy.
Anyway, I pawmise my blog will be more interesting in the future. My Mistress likes to write, and to type. And she's out of work, who isn't? now so she has plenty of time, she says no, but I says she does!
