December 11, 2008

Well, I'm here, finally.

Thanks to Max, you know, the Psychokitty? Silly question Everyone knows the Psychokitty! I got my Mistress. . .I call my caregiver "Mistress" because she isn't my real Mommy, she's my second owner, and we're too close to call each other "person" and "kitty" so I call her Mistress and I listen to her problems. She's got a lot lately. . .

Ooh, I'm getting ahead of myself, I'm sorry. Anyway, I told her, after reading all of Max's books and posts and seeing friends like Toulouse and Skeezix on here to, well, we belong to a great website called http://www.catster.com/, in fact, my dearly (?) departed sister Squeakers http://www.catster.com/cats/58594 has just been made Cat of the Week!, and why, oh why haven't I? so anyway, sorry for rambling, but this would be a great place to make some great new friends and get together with some old ones! So Mistress finally got ON her duff and made me a blog!

She's still kind of upset about Squeakers, she was Mistress' first cat, well, that she had living on her own anyway, and she left when she was way too young. Squeakers was only 5 going on 6! But she had old cat problems for a young cat. She was spoiled and very adaptable. Mistress gave her toys that she only played with for about 2 minutes, if that, she bought a stroller and Squeakers would love going out and the little Sticky People, to use Max's creative terminology, by the way, do I need to ask purrmission before I do that? anyway, they loved her to pieces. Little brat got all the attention, but I came later, and Mistress really loves me, and she is kinda spiritual in some ways, and she thinks that maybe I came for a reason, even though Squeakers and I couldn't stand each other for the longest time.

Now I am the only cat. What fun is that? Though there are no lines going to the litterbox and food dish, no "special kidney food" for me to snitch while Mistress isn't looking, no furry face to slap "just because" and no fighting over who gets Mistress' lap. What fun is that?

I was the one who warned Mistress that something was "not right" in the air, and lo and behold, Squeakers was breathing her last few breaths. Even after that, when Mistress came home from the Emergency Vet alone, I still looked everywhere for my fighting buddy.

Anyway, I pawmise my blog will be more interesting in the future. My Mistress likes to write, and to type. And she's out of work, who isn't? now so she has plenty of time, she says no, but I says she does!
